Sampling implicit objects with physically-based particle systems

چکیده
After reviewing three classical sampling methods for implicit objects, we describe a new sampling method that is not based on scanning the ambient space. In this method, samples are “randomly” generated using physically-based particle systems.

Interactive Visualization of Implicit Surfaces with Singularities
This paper presents work on two methods for interactive visualization of implicit surfaces: physically-based sampling using particle systems and polygonization followed by physically-based mesh improvement which explicitly makes use of the surface-defining equation. While most previous work applied to bounded manifolds without singularities and without boundary (topological spheres) we broaden ...
متن کاملAnimating Highly Viscous Liquids with Particle System and Implicit Surface Modeling
Physically based animations of variety of substances offers automatic generation of realistic simulations of many natural behavior of the substances in real world. Various deformable models, collision detection and responses techniques are available for simulating behaviors of substances with wide rage of physical properties which includes non viscous fluids, elastic and viscoelastic solids. We...
متن کاملDynamic Triangulation of Animated Skeleton-Based Implicit Surfaces
Due to their ability to form complex structures from a few simple primitives by blending with each other, skeleton-based implicit surfaces gained considerable importance for modeling, visualization and animation. A major difficulty when using the implicit modeling paradigm lies in the efficient rendering of the modeled objects. This paper describes the fundamental ideas of a method for the dyna...
متن کاملOriented Particles: A Tool for Shape Memory Objects Modelling
Originally introduced to render probabilistic objects, particle systems are now used in a wide range of applications. Oriented particle systems were designed as a dynamic modelling tool for describing 3D free-form objects. We propose a new method using oriented particle systems to dynamically simulate 3D deformable objects that may either come back to their initial shape or break during animati...
متن کاملA Physically Consistent Implicit Viscosity Solver for SPH Fluids
In this paper, we present a novel physically consistent implicit solver for the simulation of highly viscous fluids using the Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics (SPH) formalism. Our method is the result of a theoretical and practical in-depth analysis of the most recent implicit SPH solvers for viscous materials. Based on our findings, we developed a list of requirements that are vital to produce ...
